Matilda Lutz

The Millennium Media comic book adaptation Red Sonja is officially in production has a new cast member! Matilda Lutz is to star as the lead role in the film. This news coming after Hannah John Kamen stepped away from the project due to scheduling conflicts.

Lutz leads the ensemble cast that includes Wallis Day, Robert Sheehan, Michael Bisping, Martyn Ford and Eliza Matengu. M.J. Bassett will direct while Joey Soloway, who had initially been set to helm the film, will be credited as an executive producer.

For those not familiar with the graphic novel, Red Sonja, it’s a comic book from Dynamite Entertainment. And this isn’t the first time the story has graced the big screen. The comic had previously been adapted for the big screen in 1985. And that film starred Brigitte Nielsen and Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Who is Matilda Lutz?

Matilda Lutz is an Italian-American model and actress who is best known for appearing in the 2017 horror film Rings. Additionally, she appeared in Netflix’s Medici series in 2018.

Lutz is still relativity new to the spotlight, with a little over 20 acting credits to her dating back to 2011. However, it’s safe to assume that will change with the release of Red Sonja.
