Charlie Sheen was born in New York City on September 3, 1965. His father is actor Martin Sheen, whose real name is Ramon Estevez, and his mother is actress Janet Templeton. Sheen’s siblings, Emilio, Ramon, and Renee are also all actors.

Sheen went to Santa Monica High School in California. He excelled in sports, playing for the school’s baseball team as a pitcher and shortstop. Unfortunately, his grades and attendance were lacking. As a result, Sheen was kicked out shortly before graduation.

While in high school, Sheen already had a keen interest in acting. He used to make amateur films with his school buddies Sean Penn and Rob Lowe, and also his brother Emilio. After being expelled, he decided to get serious with acting, going by the stage name Charlie Sheen.

Sheen made his film debut in 1974 when he was only nine. He appeared as an uncredited kid at a wedding in his father’s film The Execution of Private Slovik. Sheen’s first credited role was for Grizzly II: Revenge in 1983. Interestingly, this film was only released in theaters in 2020.
