Geeking Out at the Harry Potter: The Exhibition in Atlanta, Georgia

Emma Loggins and Jennifer Steele at Harry Potter: The Exhibition in Atlanta, GA

Harry Potter: The Exhibition is open in Atlanta, Georgia, and there’s no better outing for Harry Potter fans this fall!

I recently got to preview the installation. And having experienced no shortage of fan experiences over the years, I can confirm that this one is just as magical as fans are hoping it would be!

Atlanta marks the second stop for the Exhibition. The North American tour just kicked off this past February in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. And since its debut, it’s become an absolutely epic event for fans.

You not only get up-close looks at authentic props and original costumes from the franchise, but you also have the opportunity to engage with interactive environments that are on a whole different level than anything I’ve ever seen with a touring show before!

Upon arrival, you’ll sign in and customize an experience for yourself that gets stored in a bracelet that is provided. Then, you’ll scan the bracelet at a number of spots throughout the event for the opportunity to create a curated adventure for yourself.

After entering the event, you’ll weave through a maze of themed rooms offering the latest innovations in immersive design and technology. It celebrates the films and stories of Harry PotterFantastic Beasts, and the expanding Wizarding World in a way you’ve only dreamed of!

Here are a few of the highlights! (Though, I’m only sharing a few, as we want to keep it surprising for you!)

This section is genuinely charming. You will uncover iconic creatures, such as centaurs and Acromantula, hidden in the forest and explore inside a recreation of Hagrid’s Hut.

Try Your Luck at Quidditch

While I wasn’t personally the best at it, I loved that I had the opportunity to test out my skills at Quidditch! Granted – I wasn’t in the air throwing the Quaffle, but something tells me that wouldn’t make it any easier.

After completing the Exhibition, fans find themselves exiting through the ultimate gift shop. Fans can choose from a range of products such as apparel, jewelry, and edible treats, including Chocolate Frogs and bottled Butterbeer, as well as merchandise not available at any other Wizarding World experience.

And if that wasn’t cool enough, guests also have access to a café serving a full menu of breakfast bites, sandwiches, and other offerings, as well as non-alcoholic beverages, signature event cocktails, coffee, tea, and desserts. It’s absolutely delightful!

Where Is Harry Potter: The Exhibition Heading Next?

In addition to Atlanta, the Exhibition will continue to tour globally. Fans can expect to see stops in Latin America, Asia, and Europe coming in the future. And fans in Vienna, Austria, should be on the look out for the Exhibition to arrive in December 2022!
