Daniel Radcliffe Says Wolverine Casting Is Just a Rumor

Daniel Radcliffe is looking to clear up any confusion with the recent Wolverine rumors that are circulating.

Radcliffe, who is currently doing press for the upcoming Roku film Weird: The Al Yankovic Story, is debunking the recent casting rumor saying that it’s only a “press tour rumor.”

“It’s purely a press tour rumor; I say something, and occasionally I get bored of answering that way. So I say something different, and that sets it off again. I should just never open my mouth.” Radcliffe says to GQ magazine in a recent interview.

Daniel Radcliffe Is Reluctant to Join Another Big Franchise

The Harry Potter actor had been tipped as a potential replacement for Hugh Jackman as the Wolverine in the X-Men franchise. However, Radcliffe says he’s reluctant to join another massive franchise after having grown up as Harry Potter. Furthermore, Radcliffe says he loves the flexibility that comes with starring in smaller projects.

“I just don’t ever want to get locked into something that I am not sure I will be able to love the same amount the whole time,” Radcliffe reveals.

Previously, Radcliffe has tried to distance himself from the Wolverine rumors, confessing that he didn’t expect to be cast as the character.

“So many times, people come to me like, ‘Hey man, heard the Wolverine news, that’s pretty cool.’ No, I don’t know anything about it, “Radcliffe, 33, states.

“Like, I appreciate that somebody is clearly going like ‘Wolverine’s actually short in the comic books. You should get a short guy to do it!’,” he continues. “But I don’t see myself, I don’t see them going from Hugh Jackman to me. But who knows? Prove me wrong, Marvel.”
