Lupita Nyong’o To Star in ‘A Quiet Place’ Spin-Off

Lupita Nyong'o

Lupita Nyong’o is set to star in her next project, A Quiet Place: Day One. The movie will be a spin-off of the A Quite Place movies, which starred Emily Blunt.

Nyong’o, 39, is in final negotiations to star in the Paramount horror movie. The film is being directed by Michael Sarnoski, best known for his directing work in 2021’s Pig.

Scott Beck, Jeff Nichols, and Bryan Woods will write the flick, which is based on John Kransinki’s original concept.

Currently, not much more is known about the project other than it is in a spin-off as opposed to a third installment in the franchise. The hope is that A Quiet Place: Day One sets up the Quiet Place universe for more content to come in future years.

It is thought to be unlikely that Emily Blunt (and very unlikely that John Krasinksi) will return for the latest film. However, the name of the film does sound like it will be starting at the beginning of the event that inspired the previous two films. So, never say never. We don’t have any additional plot details at this time.

A Quiet Place Movies Release Schedule

A Quiet Place: Day One is scheduled for release in March 2024. Additionally, there is a third movie, A Quiet Place III, from the original franchise storyline that is in the pipeline as well. John Krasinksi is set to direct that film as well. So far, Noah Jupe (Marcus Abbott), Millicent Simmonds (Regan Abbott), Aleks Alifirenko Jr., and Shavon Majoi have signed on for the project, which is expected to release sometime in 2025.

Michael Bay, Andrew Form, and Brad Fuller will produce both A Quiet Place: Day One and A Quiet Place III along with Krasinski via his Sunday Night banner.

Meanwhile, fans of Lupita Nyong’o can catch her reprising her role as the spy Nakia in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) sequel Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. The latest MCU film premieres in theaters on November 11, 2022.
