Not much is known yet about the plot of the film, as details are being kept under wraps. However, Deadline reports that the film will be “in the vein of classic Hollywood psychological thrillers”.

The script for Longlegs is penned by Gretel and Hansel writer Osgood Perkins, who will also direct the film. Also involved is  Jason Cloth and Dave Caplan’s C2 Motion Picture Group, as they will also produce and finance the movie.

Currently Nicolas Cage is Filming Sand and Stones in Ireland

Nicolas Cage, 58, isn’t slowing down any time soon. The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent actor also joined the cast of the survival-action thriller Sand and Stones, which is being helmed by Ben Brewer based on Michael Nilon’s script, with filming starting this month in Dublin.

Sand and Stones is set in a world where society has collapsed and the world’s population has plummeted. Cage plays Paul, a man who has been able to survive on a remote farmhouse with his teenage sons. However, when the sun sets nightly, “ferocious creatures” begin to hunt and kill any living being that crosses their path. The family find themselves battling for survival after one of the sons mistakenly opens them up for attack.

Ben Brewer and Cage previously worked together on the 2016 film The Trust, where Cage starred opposite Elijah Wood. However, the film was not a box office success, only grossing $321,650 worldwide on a budget of $9 million. Brewer also served as the lead visual effects artist on the critically acclaimed movie as Everything Everywhere All at Once.

Will Sand and Stones Be a Bigger Success for Cage and Brewer?

Only time will tell if Sand and Stones will be a bigger box office draw than The Trust. But one thing is for sure, the people involved are excited about the project as well as Cage being attached to the film.

“We are absolutely thrilled to be working with Nicolas, a superb actor whose worldwide influence and legendary charm is second to none.’Sand and Stones’ is an exciting action film, with a high-energy storyline brilliantly written by Mike.
