Anjelica Huston Set to Star in John Wick Spinoff ‘Ballerina’

Anjelica Huston

Anjelica Huston, who appeared in John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum as The Director, is to star in the upcoming John Wick spinoff Ballerina.

Huston, 71, is set to reprise her role as the head of the Ruska Roma crime organization in the film. Among her skills is training young dancers to learn that art is suffering, while also training young fighters to roll with the flips.

Huston isn’t the only name returning to star in the flick. Ian McShane is also returning in the role of Winston, the manager of The Continental Hotel. And Keanu Reeves is expected to make an appearance as John Wick as well. Though, it’s unclear how much of the film he’ll star in at this time.

Ballerina is already in production in Prague. Ana de Armas is leading the film as the ballerina-assassin Rooney. And the movie is being directed by Len Wiseman.

“The idea of ‘Ballerina’ was formed around the scenes with Anjelica in ‘John Wick 3’,” Producer Erica Lee comments. “Anjelica Huston is an icon and is nothing less than Hollywood royalty. The world of Wick is always made richer by her commanding screen presence.”

Ian McShane’s casting in the film was also recently confirmed by producer Basil Iwanyk, who comments, We’re thrilled to have Ian McShane joining us for a pivotal role in ‘Ballerina’.”

“He’s been such an integral part of the franchise since the original ‘John Wick.’ It’s been fun to have him on this journey as the Wick universe expands.” he adds.
