Amanda Seyfried Joins the Cast of ‘Seven Veils’
Amanda Seyfried is joining the cast of Atom Egoyan’s Seven Veils.
Seyfried, 37, is reuniting with Egoyan for the project. The pair previously worked together on the 2009 film Chloe, which Egoyan also directed.
Seven Veils tells the story of Jeanine (played by Seyfried), a theatre director who has been given the daunting task of reviving her former mentor’s most famous work – the opera ‘Salome’.
Jeanine finds herself haunted by disturbing memories from her past. And her repressed trauma ends up resurfacing as she returns to the opera after having spent many years away.
Egoyan is not only directing the film, but he’s also penning the script and producing alongside Niv Fichman, Simone Urdl, Fraser Ash, and Kevin Krikst.
“I first produced ‘Salome’ for the Canadian Opera Company almost 30 years ago and have been haunted by its themes. This is a project I’ve been dreaming about for years. And it’s such a thrill to be reunited with Amanda after the amazing experience we had together making ‘Chloe’.” Egoyan said in a recent statement.
No release date for Seven Veils has been announced yet. However, we do know that filming for the movie is set to begin in Toronto next week.
We’ll keep you posted as more news on the movie is announced!
