Also joining the cast is Anthony Ramos, best known for starring in 2021’s In the Heights. Additionally, we’ve heard rumors of Kiernan Shipka possibly being involved, but that news has not been confirmed.

The Storyline of Twisters

The film will pick up decades after the original film and will follow a storm chaser, Kate, who survived a horrific tornado years ago that left most of her crew dead. After the chase, she gave up storm-chasing for good. And since then, she’s spent the last ten years in a desk job as a tornado specialist with the National Weather Service. Though, the film finds Kate back in the field once more.

IMDb Pro’s official description lists the film’s summary simply as “an update to the 1996 film Twister.” The flick is not thought to be a direct sequel.
