Reese Witherspoon and Will Ferrell’s ‘You’re Cordially Invited’ to Start Filming in Atlanta, Georgia

Reese Witherspoon and Will Ferrell are heading to Atlanta, Georgia, in a few short weeks to start filming their latest project You’re Cordially Invited.

The Amazon Studios comedy is currently in pre-production and is expected to start filming on May 1, 2023. Nick Stoller is directing the flick and also wrote the script. Additionally, he serves as a producer on the movie alongside both Witherspoon and Ferrell.

The Storyline of You’re Cordially Invited

So what do we know about the storyline for You’re Cordially Invited? While the plot is being kept under wraps, we do know a few details.

Will Ferrell is expected to play Jim, whose daughter is getting married. Reese Witherspoon is expected to play Margot, the sister of a bride-to-be. And unfortunately, both weddings have selected the same island resort for their impending nuptials. Neither Jim nor Margot will back down in order to have things their way in a battle for whose wedding wins.

Reese Witherspoon’s Upcoming Projects

Reese Witherspoon has no shortage of projects in the works. She’s currently working on the third season of The Morning Show, and she’s also been in production on the Disney+ animated series Tiny Trailblazers, a project she also created.

If that wasn’t enough, she also has more than forty projects in various stages of development, according to IMDb Pro. While Witherspoon won’t star in all of those projects (as some will see her in a producer role), one that she will star in is the upcoming live-action flick Tinker Bell, which Disney will release in March 2025.

Will Ferrell’s Upcoming Projects

Fans of Will Ferrell can see him next in this summer’s Barbie, where he’ll play the CEO of Mattel. Additionally, he’s in post-production on a still-untitled comedy for Hulu starring Awkwafina, Jason Schwartzman, and Sandra Oh.

There’s no word yet on when You’re Cordially Invited will release on Amazon Prime or when filming is expected to wrap in Atlanta. But we’ll keep you posted as more details surface!
