Dragon Con 2024 Saturday Cosplay Highlights: ‘What We Do in The Shadows’ and More

Dragon Con 2024’s Saturday lived up to its reputation as the convention’s biggest day. Following the annual parade, fans flooded the hotels for panels, cosplaying, and cosplay-watching. This year, while What We Do in the Shadows cosplay took center stage (largely because that’s what Team FanBolt was cosplay as), the Star Wars universe wasn’t far behind for a second night in a row, proving that the force is still strong with Dragon Con attendees!

For those who might not be familiar, What We Do in the Shadows is the hit FX mockumentary series based on the 2014 film. It chronicles the hilarious misadventures of vampire roommates trying to navigate modern life in Staten Island. The show’s popularity was evident at Dragon Con 2024, with numerous fans yelling at FanBolt’s Doug Sprinkle about his hat (which he F***ING loves). 😉

Team FanBolt was joined by our friends from Three If By Space and Shakefire.net. We transformed ourselves into Nandor, Nadja, Laszlo, Colin Robinson, and Guida, ready to take on the convention in true Staten Island style!

But the cosplay creativity didn’t stop with us. The Star Wars universe made a strong showing yet again, with attendees representing characters from across the saga’s timeline. From The Mandalorian to some fun mashups, the galaxy far, far away felt very close indeed.

Our favorite of the cosplay of the night, you ask? It’s a toss-up between another strong showing of Inside Out cosplay followed closely by infamous Olympic breakdancer Raygun.
