What to Watch For: The film is written and directed by two-time Oscar-nominated Ryan Coogler (Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, Judas and the Black Messiah) and stars Michael B. Jordan in a duel role of the two twin brothers.

My Take: Director Ryan Coogler has stated that the two biggest influences on the look of the film were Robert Rodríguez’s From Dusk to Dawn (1996) and The Faculty (1998).

The Wedding Banquet (2025)

Summary: The Wedding Banquet is the story of two couples: Chris (Bowen Yang) and Min (Han Gi-chan), and Angela (Kelly Marie Tran) and Lee (Lily Gladstone). Min needs a green card and strikes a deal with Lee, who is trying to get pregnant via the costly IVF procedure. Min will be responsible for paying for the IVF procedure if Lee marries Min. Things are going great until Min’s grandmother (Youn Yuh-jung) unexpectedly comes to the U.S. to throw a lavish wedding for her grandson. What seemed so simple is now one big lie that could fall apart at any minute.
What to Watch For: This is a remake of the 1993 film of the same name from Ang Lee. The 1993 film was nominated for a Best Foreign Language Film Academy Award in 1994.

My Take: Joan Chen plays Angela’s mother in the film. I fell in love with Joan Chen when she played Jocelyn in the TV series Twin Peaks.

The President’s Wife (2023)

My Take: This is the 146th film that Catherine Deneuve has starred in. Her first role was in 1957.

It Feeds (2025)

Summary: In It Feeds, Cynthia (Ashley Greene) is a clairvoyant who helps people overcome trauma in their lives with the help of her daughter, Jordan (Ellie O’Brien). When a young girl bursts into Cynthia’s practice, claiming an entity is feeding on her, Jordan and her mother must find a way to stop the force before the girl is taken completely.
