Lohan Begins Community Service

LINDSAY LOHAN has begun her community service in Los Angeles, as part of the
plea deal relating to her convictions for driving under the influence earlier
this year (07).

The Mean Girls actress started her 10-day stint on Monday (12Nov07), when was
snapped entering an American Red Cross blood services facility at midday. She
was later seen leaving the building at 7pm local time, carrying a book simply
titled, Blood.

Lohan, 21, was charged with driving under the influence and being under the
influence of cocaine in relation to two drink-driving arrests in Beverly Hills,
California and nearby Santa Monica in May and July of this year (07).

Police allegedly found cocaine in the star’s possession on both occasions,
although officials say the amount of the drug was below the 0.05 grams required
for a felony offense.

Lohan was initially sentenced to four days behind bars in August (07), after
pleading guilty to two of the seven misdemeanor charges against her, but a
judge cut that in half and ordered her to carry out 10 days of community
service instead. A further day was taken off the jail sentence because of time
Lohan has already served during her arrests.

The star – who spent much of the summer (07) in rehab at Utah’s Cirque Lodge
facility – must complete her prison sentence by January (08), according to
People.com.
