Federline Hopes Spears Will Be Reunited With Kids
BRITNEY SPEARS’ ex-husband KEVIN FEDERLINE hopes the former couple will eventually be able to raise their children together.
Spears lost her visitation rights to her two young sons indefinitely on Monday (14Jan08) after failing to show up at her latest custody hearing.
The singer arrived at Los Angeles Superior Court for a crucial custody hearing four hours late and then reportedly refused to enter the courthouse.
The Toxic hitmaker was not legally obliged to attend but the new ruling means she will not see her kids for a minimum of one month – at least until the date of the next hearing.
And Federline’s lawyer Mark Vincent Kaplan says his client is saddened his boys won’t be able to see their mother and hopes the situation will one day be resolved.
He tells celebrity blogger Perez Hilton, “The word victory is not something that Mister Federline nor his counsel would ascribe to the result of the court ruling today.
“There is no joyous feeling in this, this is a grave situation for everyone.
At some point, it is Mister Federline’s hope to parent the minor children with participation from the mother.”
Monday’s (14Jan08) hearing heard the testimony of five of the police officials and paramedics who witnessed Spears’ apparent breakdown earlier this month (Jan07), which initially cost the star her visitation rights.
The authorities were called to Spears’ L.A. home on 3 January (07) after she refused to hand over her youngest son, Jayden James, to a Federline employee at the end of a scheduled visit.
Spears then locked herself and the one-year-old in a bathroom for three hours. She was later admitted to hospital.
