Smith: I’m Not A Scientologist’

WILL SMITH has hit back at claims he and his wife JADA PINKETT SMITH have been
recruited by the Church of Scientology.

Recent reports claimed the couple had started following the controversial
faith, on the advice of close pals Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes.

But Smith insists he chooses to study religions, without subscribing to any
one.

He says, “You don’t have to be Jewish to be a friend of Steven Spielberg. You
don’t have to be a Muslim to be a friend of Muhammad Ali. And you don’t have to
be a Scientologist to be a friend of Tom Cruise. I am a Christian. I am a
student of all religions. And I respect all people and all paths.”

A spokesman for Smith adds, “As Will Smith’s publicist I can tell you with
100 per cent certainty that Will is not a Scientologist.”

It isn’t the truth to compare it to religion. So he is either lying, enabling, or ignorant of the facts. There is no middle ground. As for me, I await the time when Tom Hanks (known for his integrity and intelligence) does a expose’ like Jimmy Stewarts’ “Mr. Smith goes to Washington”. Of course it will have to be called “Mr, Smith goes to Clearwater”.
