Winehouse’s Drink Spiked?

AMY WINEHOUSE’s father MITCH is convinced the star’s recent hospital dash was the result of having her drink spiked with ecstasy, according to reports.

The Back To Black hitmaker was admitted to hospital on Monday (28Jul08) after she fell ill at her London home.

The singer’s spokesman subsequently released a statement blaming her condition on an adverse reaction to medication she is taking to help kick her drug addiction.

Winehouse was discharged from London’s University College Hospital on Tuesday (29Jul08) morning following a series of medical tests.

But her father Mitch is now reportedly considering making a complaint to police, claiming the 24-year-old was the victim of a drink-spiking incident.

A source tells British newspaper The Sun, “Mitch is furious. He’s certain someone put E (ecstasy) in Amy’s drink – and he’s determined to get to the bottom of it.

“He’s convinced that one of her hangers-on was responsible and he’s waiting for a toxicology report to show what caused her to fit.

“If his suspicions are proved right, he wants someone to be punished. He is seriously unhappy for Amy’s flat being a stop-over for randoms and wants an end to it.”

A Scotland Yard spokesman confirmed no formal complaint had been made as FanBolt went to press.
