It is being reported by a number of news sources that Michael Jackson will be buried without his brain in order for further tests to be run to help determine the cause of his death.
The star passed away on June 25 after a suspected cardiac arrest. Doctors are still investigating whether or not the arrest was brought on or linked in any way to painkillers.
According to The Mirror, the singer’s brain must be left for two weeks to “harden” so that the necessary tests can be conducted by a forensic neuropathologist.
Jackson is scheduled to be buried later today at a private family funeral. A public memorial and tribute will be held afterward at the Staples Centre.
