‘One Tree Hill’ And ‘Life Unexpected’ Make Good Tuesday Night Team

New nights, new time periods, The CW’s best Tuesday in a year! The new Tuesday combination of ONE TREE HILL and LIFE UNEXPECTED led The CW to its largest Tuesday night audience (2.0mil) in a year (best since 9/15/09), according to preliminary live plus same day Nielsen ratings for Wednesday, Sept. 14, 2010.

Entering its eighth season, ONE TREE HILL continued to deliver, posting the network’s largest audience (2.2mil) in its new Tuesday 8:00-9:00p.m. lead-off position in almost a year (best since 10/20/09). And in key demos, ONE TREE HILL scored the time period’s best ratings since Dec. 2009 in women 18-34 (1.9/6), adults 18-34 (1.3/5) and adults 18-49 (1.1/4).

Compared to last year’s season 7 premiere (on Mondays), ONE TREE HILL’s debut last night retained 88% of its total audience and 92% of its adults 18-49 performance from last year.

LIFE UNEXPECTED delivered The CW’s largest total audience (1.7mil) in the Tuesday 9:00-10:00pm in a year (best since 9/15/09), and reached The CW’s best demos in this time period among women 18-34 (1.5/4) and adults 18-34 (1.0/3) since 11/17/09.

  1. One Tree Hill is the main reason I’m making an effort to watch the Season One premiere of Life Unexpected here in the UK on the 19th! I don’t want to be out of the loop when they do the crossover! I’m glad that One Tree Hill is still performing well, could this intice a Season 9 from them?! *Fingers crossed*

  2. One Tree Hill and Smallville have both lasted a really long time. More than most TV shows can hold up. So hopefully One Tree Hill can stick around a little longer. And you’ll love Life Unexpected! Such a good show!

  3. I’m a huge fan of both OTH and Smallville but with Smallvile entering its last season (I believe) I’d like to see OTH to keep going, I think there are so many storylines to be had and even though Peyton & Lucas have left the show is still fantastically gripping!! I’m hoping for at least 10 seasons!

I hope I like Life Unexpected! I love Shiri Appleby from her days as Liz in Roswell and when she was in Swimfan and I also adore Kerr Smith from his Dawson days way back when Katie Holmes was just little Joey Potter and my man Joshua was a hella cute Pacey! I have high expectations from what I have read about the show so fingers crossed!!
