Nick Lachey And Vanessa Minnillo Engaged

Despite a brief split last summer, onetime Newlyweds star Nick Lachey and long-time girlfriend Vanessa Minnillo are now officially engaged!

“We’re excited and incredibly happy about our engagement and we look forward to a wonderful future together,” the couple said earlier this week in a statement.

No word yet on what Lachey’s ex-wife, Jessica Simpson, thinks of all this. As fans may remember, Simpson credited their break-up as “one of the hardest obstacles I’ve had to overcome in my life” months after the split. Let’s hope this doesn’t throw her off track in what seems to be a great relationship with NFL player Eric Johnson currently.

And if there was ever still any doubt in fans minds about the engagement, Lachey put that to rest this Thursday on Twitter when he tweeted: “Hey all. If anyone’s heard the rumors of my engagement, they are absolutely true! Vanessa and I couldn’t be happier. Thanks for all the love.”

Second times a charm? Let’s just hope we won’t be seeing a Newlyweds 2 on our television tubes anytime soon – or far – in the future!
