Former ‘Survivor’ Producer Charged With Aggravated Murder
The former Survivor producer, who is charged in Mexico with murdering his wife Monica while on a family vacation in Cancun, in now in custody.
Bruce Beresford-Redman, who was released from custody pending DNA evidence back in April when the murder occured [and took that chance to flee the country], was arrested this past Tuesday by U.S. marshals and is now in federal custody while extradition proceedings get underway.
Beresford-Redman was picked up at his parents’ home in Rancho Palos-Verdes, where he’s been living with his two kids.
Further details have yet to be released, but from the looks of it [and this is just purely speculation], the DNA results weren’t in his favor. What is confirmed is that Beresford-Redman has maintained his innocence through this whole ordeal. In fact, he recently won a court battle against his late wife’s sisters, who were seeking custody of their niece and nephew, when a judge awarded guardianship to Beresford-Redman’s parents.
Monica’s body was found in a septic tank outside the Cancun hotel the couple was staying at, several days after her husband reported her missing. Cause of death was determined to be asphyxiation.
According to the federal criminal complaint issued prior to this past Tuesday’s arrest, Beresford-Redman is charged with aggravated homicide in the state of Quintana Roo.
More information is expected to be available to the public in the upcoming weeks.
