Keith Urban: Nicole Saved My Life

Keith Urban chatted it up with Oprah this past Monday. Addiction, recovery, love, & the role his lovely wife, Nicole Kidman, played in each one of those subjects was the topics discussed.

Alcohol and cocaine ruled his life for years. While the singer admits he tried ‘rehabbing himself’ two times in the past, it was the third try that ultimately was a success. Number one reason: marrying the lovely ‘The Others’ star Nicole Kidman! In fact, Urban entered treatment just a few short weeks after tying the knot with the actress!

“My life had gotten to a complete unmanageability,” he said. “I got to that crossroads, and I said, ‘I’ve been here before.'”

When Oprah asked Urban if he would go so far as to say Kidman ‘saved’ him, he responds: “Absolutely. That’s the point right there were she should’ve just walked. I’m just so glad she didn’t.”

Urban reveals that it was Kidman, along with a small group of friends in Nashville, who staged his intervention; an intervention that has ultimately kept Keith sober for four years now.
