Celebrities To Die For A Cause
Some of Hollywood’s hottest stars will die today, and only you can bring them back!
You may find the ads in upcoming magazines, which read “[Celebrity Name] Is Dead”, and features participates in a coffin.
While they’re not exactly ending their lives, they are experiencing so-called “digital deaths”. What’s a “digital death”? All celebrities involved will vow to sign off social media outlets like Twitter and Facebook on Dec. 1 until $1 million is raised for Alicia Keys’ Keep a Child Alive charity.
In other words, no more daily bundles of tweets from Kim Kardashian for a while, unless you quicken the pace to bring her back along with many others. Just how can you do this? You visit http://www.buyalife.org and donate to the charity for your favorite digitally dead celebrity. The quicker the million is made, the quicker we’ll once again read up on some of our celebrity tweets of the day again. Donations can be as little as $5, and while you’re there, be sure to snag the trend-setting t-shirts that your friends can scan while you’re wearing them and save lives.
“We’re trying to sort of make the remark: Why do we care so much about the death of one celebrity as opposed to millions and millions of people dying in the place that we’re all from? It’s about love and respect and human dignity,” says co-founder Leigh Blake.
So get ready fans, because on 12.01.2010, Alicia Keys, Justin Timberlake, Usher, Lady Gaga, Kourtney Kardashian, Khloe Kardashian, Swizz Beats, Jennifer Hudson, Kimberly Cole, Jay Sean, Katie Holmes, Ryan Seacret, Serena William, Willow and Jaden Smith, Elijah Wood, Serena Williams and who knows who else will bid their goodbyes to social networking. Already released is the video of their “last tweet and testament”, found below.
And remember, “the more you buy the more you save”!
