Reese Witherspoon Arrested In Atlanta For Disorderly Conduct

Reese Witherspoon was arrested in Atlanta early last Friday morning for disorderly conduct when her husband, Jim Toth, was pulled over and failed a sobriety test.

“You are going to be on national news,” Witherspoon allegedly told a Georgia state trooper early Friday morning as she was arrested.

Witherspoon reportedly asked the officer multiple times if he knew her she was, to wish the officer replied, “No I don’t need to know your name.”

Bother Witherspoon and Toth were taken to jail, where Toth was charged with DUI and Witherspoon with disorderly conduct. The hearing for the case was scheduled for this morning where numerous media members waited outside the courtroom. The hearing was reported by local Atlanta media to have only last 5 minutes without an appearance from Witherspoon.

“Out of respect for the ongoing legal situation, I cannot comment on everything that is being reported right now. I clearly had one drink too many and I am deeply embarrassed about the things I said,” Witherspoon said. “It was definitely a scary situation, and I was frightened for my husband, but that is no excuse. I was disrespectful to the officer who was just doing his job.”

Witherspoon is currently in Atlanta filming The Good Lie.

  1. Why is it so hard for these celebrities to call for a driver or have a limo take them home? They have the money! People around here who go bar hopping get a limo for the night. A lot cheaper then getting a DUI and much safer for all!

  2. i just think it’s funny that she tried to play the celebrity card 🙂 they’re people too so they should get in trouble just as much as us right? haha

  3. If they must party, it would be nice to see celebrities model responsible behavior and get a driver, as beachdreaming says – cheaper and safer for all. But, that might not get the media attention. Good for the officer, doing the right thing and protecting the community. blankomewolover, have to wonder how many times playing the celeb card got them out of similar situations!
