Peter O’Toole Passes Away at 81

Legendary actor Peter O’Toole passed away at the age of eighty-one at the Wellington hospital in London. O’Toole had been in ill health for quite some time.

O’Toole is best remembered for his Oscar-nominated role as the lead in Lawrence of Arabia. The film was his breakout role, and he would go on to earn a total of eight nominations in his career, none of which he would win (which is a record). Among his more well-known films are The Lion in Winter, Goodbye, Mr. Chips and My Favorite Year.

O’Toole was no stranger to genre fans either. Among other roles he appeared as Zoltar in 1984’s Supergirl and played the lead role in the 1988 horror-comedy High Spirits.
