Pushmo Review: Fantastically Entertaining eShop Puzzler

Pushmo Review

Pushmo is the latest Nintendo eShop addiction for the 3DS. It’s a simple puzzle game with even simpler gameplay, yet there are fun and challenging levels for you to play in and solve. It starts you out with a fairly simple tutorial to ease you in to all the in’s and out’s of the game before it pushes you into the first of 10 stages. There is a vast amount of levels for you to play in, and to make it even better you can create your own levels and share them with others – as well as play levels that others have created.

The main goal of the game is to get to the top of a cluster of blocks, and save a child that’s stuck. You’ll have to rearrange the blocks to jump up and get to the child. When you are playing a user created level, it will be a flag you have to reach. There are a few different ways to move the blocks and sometimes you’ll even have to jump around a few, but it is certainly quite fun and very addictive. The further you get the more the game will make you think about how you will need to solve each puzzle. It comes across very easy right from the beginning, but it certainly does increase in difficulty.

When it comes to the studio editor (to create your own levels) it works pretty easily. It takes you step by step through how the process works, and you will create the levels by using the touch screen. However, you won’t be able to create any levels until you get past the tutorial. Once you do, you are free to create levels and then share them. You will need to create, play, and beat your level before you are able to share it though. This ended up being a lot more addicting than I anticipated. Normally, I usually don’t get into creating my own designs, but with this title it certainly got me into it.

Pushmo can be found on the Nintendo 3DS eShop for $6.99 and it is quite worth the price. If you are a fan of puzzle games then I am sure you’ll have a great deal of fun with this title. You’ll even have a great time creating and designing your own levels in the studio and sharing those levels with friends. If you are looking for some quick fun that will last you awhile then this is certainly a must get title!
