The Daily Verse: Blades of Time Trailer, Two Demos Released and a Jet Set Radio Contest

Today on The Daily Verse, we look at the latest trailer for Blades of Time. For sports fans, Major League Baseball 2K12 and Fifa Street demos are now available on both Xbox Live and PlayStation Network. Lastly, for fans of Jet Set Radio, Sega is holding a contest for those who have a talent for digital graffiti.

Blades of Time, Konami

Blades of Time is centered around the gorgeous treasure hunter Ayumi, who finds herself under siege in the hostile fantasy realm of Dragonland, where demonic creatures fueled by Chaos magic wreak havoc. The video introduces Blades of Time’s lush landscapes and Ayumi’s deadly beauty, from her quick-slashing dual-katana attacks, handiness with firearms, her game-changing ability to rewind time, and more.

The new trailer showcases Ayumi in elegant melee and ranged combat, in some instances using Time Rewind to clone herself into a small army to fight her monstrous adversaries.

Major League Baseball 2k12, 2K Sports

2K Sports announced that a free demo of Major League Baseball 2K12 is now available on the Xbox LIVE Marketplace for the Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system from Microsoft and the PlayStation Network for PlayStation 3 computer entertainment system.

The demo allows players to relive 2011’s thrilling, back-and-forth World Series and play three innings as the Texas Rangers or St. Louis Cardinals. In addition, it showcases many of MLB 2K12’s improved features, including the dynamic tendencies system that adjusts pitcher and batter ratings as the game unfolds; a revamped throwing system; and a new hit distribution system with more varied and realistic hit types.

This year’s edition of MLB 2K will allow players to experience the authenticity and excitement of a real baseball game, and also a chance to win $1,000,000. The Perfect Game Challenge returns for the third consecutive year with MLB 2K12, and is bigger than ever. The new format will utilize a dynamic leaderboard that ranks the top eight perfect games thrown. At the end of the competition, the top eight competitors will face each other in a live $1 million tournament.

Fifa Street, EA Sports

EA SPORTS announced today that a demo of FIFA Street is available now on Xbox 360 videogame and entertainment system from Xbox Live Marketplace and will be tomorrow for the PlayStation 3 computer entertainment system at the PLAYSTATION Store. Free your game by using tricks, flicks and flair to roast opponents in the first authentic street football videogame that replicates the way the game is played around the world.

In the demo, the journey to street football glory begins in the World Tour story mode where players create themselves and their squad in-game, upgrade attributes, and unlock some of the 50 new skill moves and authentic street dribbling styles available. Players can then pull their progression from the demo into the full game version of FIFA Street that will be in stores March 13. In addition, gamers who download their friends’ created players onto their own squad will unlock the Freestyle Challenge tournament on the Shanghai Rooftop. Plus, the in-game social network in FIFA Street kicks off as players view friends’ stats and accomplishments, share videos, and connect in the FIFA Street Network.

  1. Blades of Time doesn’t really interest me for some reason. I don’t particularly like baseball so I’m not interested in Major League Baseball 2k12 either. Fifa Street is a franchise that I absolutely can’t stand. Jet Set Radio coming to XBLA and PSN is good news, I may get it on XBLA, although I’d like to see it come to 3DS.

  2. That trailer is what interested me, plus I am a sucker for action games in general. It just feels as if it might have a nice storyline to it. I can’t say anything for sure until I play it though. :p

  3. I plan on reviewing Blades of Time, so keep an eye out for that. If I enjoy it, maybe my review will cause you to be more interested. 🙂
