New Infinity Blade: Dungeons

Yesterday at Apple’s media event in San Francisco, Epic Games, Inc. unveiled Infinity Blade: Dungeons, a new adventure set in the award-winning Infinity Blade universe to be released later this year for iOS devices.

Set several thousand years prior to the events in the classic Infinity Blade series, gamers will assume the role of an apprentice weaponsmith who serves the Master of the Forge, sent forth on a perilous quest to forge the one thing the Deathless will come to fear most: the Infinity Blade.

With a dynamic camera system that takes you in and out of battle, weapon crafting and exploration, Infinity Blade: Dungeons is an innovative take on the dungeon-crawling experience while also expanding the Infinity Blade universe. And with the latest Unreal Engine technology, it showcases what is possible for Apple’s new iPad.

“Just like Apple has raised the bar for mobile computing, the Infinity Blade franchise has continually re-defined expectations for mobile gaming,” said Epic Games President Dr. Michael Capps (@EpicActual). “With Infinity Blade: Dungeons we continue the tradition of melding exciting gameplay with beautiful, rich worlds powered by Unreal Engine technology; and Apple’s new iPad allows us to push the boundaries even further.”

NAMCO BANDAI Games America Inc. stuck its head in the bass bin today and had its ears rattled by the onslaught of electronic music heading onto the soundtrack of RIDGE RACER UNBOUNDED. Loaded with unstoppable energy, the game soundtrack includes licensed music from established and emerging electronic artists, plus tracks taken from the entire history of RIDGE RACER alongside a number of brand new original compositions.

Licensed music on RIDGE RACER UNBOUNDED comes from recent GRAMMY Award-winning dubstep producer Skrillex, with the tracks ‘Kill Everybody’ and ‘Scary Monsters And Nice Sprites’, plus US electronica duo The Crystal Method and drum & bass collaborators Noisia & The Upbeats. Other additions to the sonic soundscape come from Scratch Perverts, Unknown Error, OVERSEER and newcomers RuN RiOT and Ever Never.

Keeping one wheel firmly in the musical heritage of RIDGE RACER, the game features a selection of tracks by Hiroshi Okubo from throughout the 18 year history of the series, starting with the very first RIDGE RACER right up to RIDGE RACER 7. To complete the game’s auditory assault, Hiroshi Okubo and his team at NAMCO BANDAI Games Inc in Japan have created a number of completely original tracks for RIDGE RACER UNBOUNDED, destined to keep the sonic fires of RIDGE RACER burning brighter than ever.
