Get ready to play all of your favorite Nintendo 3DS titles on a much larger screen. Coming August 19th, 2012 – Nintendo will be releasing the Nintendo 3DS XL. The 3DS XL is 90% larger than the size of the standard 3DS and it also has a battery life that outperforms that of the regular 3DS. It will come bundled with a 4GB SD card and will be available in red and blue colors. Suggested retail price for the 3DS XL is $199.99 and it will release on the same day as New Super Mario Bros. 2.

This information was released last night during the latest “Nintendo Direct” along with other information. Greg Wiggleton will soon provide you with a full recap from the show. Until then we have some screenshots for you to check out that show off both the 3DS XL and the comparison between the 3DS and 3DS XL.
