James MacArthur, who played a detective in the original run of the newly rebooted hit show, Hawaii Five-O, passed away at age 72 from natural causes this Thursday at his home in Florida.
If you were a fan of Hawaii Five-O in it’s original version, you most likely relate MacArthur’s character, Detective Danny “Danno” Williams, to his constant duty of registering in the criminals every time sidekick Steve McGarret [played by Jack Lord] gave those infamous orders to “book ’em”.
“Sad,” Peter Lenkov, the director of the rebooted CBS series tweeted. “We’ve lost a special part of our heritage today.”
The show ran from 1968 to 1980, and MacArthur appeared in every season.
