Recently, I had the chance to be shown an advance preview trailer for the upcoming Toki Tori 2 for the Wii U eShop and PC/Mac by Two Tribes. While I can not fully show you the trailer yet, I am able to discuss with you what I saw. From what I’ve seen so far, I’m both impressed and excited to eventually get my hands on the game.
In case you were not sure what kind of game Toki Tori 2 is, it is a puzzle game. Besides moving around the world, the game has two main moves. An ability to whistle, which will make things move closer to you or take notice of you, and the ability to do a small stomp – The stomp which can move things away or scares them off. It may seem simple to just have two move sets, but the game world has plenty of different puzzles to throw at you to keep things challenging. When first introduced to the world, there are no tutorials or text of what to do. Instead, the game gradually move through the world to get used to how the game works – Slowly introducing new concepts to try out eventually leading to complex puzzles to solve.
Visually, the game look amazing. The game world is very much full of color of life. Even though the preview trailer I saw is not final, the game looks absolutely stunning. The simple music and sound effects truly add a good bit to the game. You will see what I mean once the official trailer for the game is made by Two Tribes.
The game may still be a little ways out from being released, but I believe it will fully be worth the wait. I’ll have more information and previews of this game as they come in. So be sure to stay tuned!
