Iconic TV Producer Of ‘The A-Team’ Dies At 69
Stephen J. Cannell, who had been battling melanoma, died at age 69 this past Thursday night at his Los Angeles-area home.
Cannell, who got his start in the 1960s, selling a script to Mission: Impossible, produced many shows we all came to love. The A-Team, 21 Jump Street [the show that first introduced us to actor Johnny Depp], and The Rockford Files were among Cannell’s long list of hits, along with other favorites such as Wiseguy, Hunter, The Commish and The Greatest American Hero.
Cannell was also a best-selling novelist in addition to all the above accomplishments [and many more unmentioned].
“Through the legacy of his body of work…he will always be with us,” a statement on his website reads, “living on in our hearts and minds, with fond memories forever.”
