‘Entertainment Tonight’ Annouces Replacement Co-Anchor

Entertainment Tonight has a new co-anchor; former Access Hollywood host Nancy O’Dell!

When Mary Hart, the queen bee of E.T., announced this summer that she would be leaving the show next year after 30 seasons, fans were worried about who they would be welcoming in their home from the tv tube every night; will they be good enough to fill Hart’s shoes? Thankfully, we’ve got a professional on our hands here people; O’Dell was well liked on Access Hollywood, so we’ve got high hopes for her!

“I remember watching Entertainment Tonight when it first premiered and dreaming about working for the show someday!” O’Dell said in a statement. “It is the original and the gold standard of entertainment news shows. Needless to say, I am thrilled that my dream has come true. I have greatly admired the show and the incomparable and esteemed Mary Hart—her quiet power and professionalism are beyond admirable.”

O’Dell, 44, will join the show as a special correspondent and substitute anchor in January, then assume the co-anchor position full-time alongside Mark Steines after Hart signs off.
