SAG Nominations Announced: ‘Black Swan’ And ‘Glee’ Rack Up

Nominations were announced this morning for the 17th annual Screen Actors Guild Awards. Black Swan and The King’s Speech took the lead for films with the most nominations. And on the television side, Glee and Mad Men were nominated in multiple categories.

Usually the SAG awards are a good indication of what we can expect to see for the rest of the awards season. We think Natalie Portman is going to be the force to be reckoned with for the leading actress not only at the SAG awards, but also the upcoming Golden Globes and Oscars.

  1. I’ve got my bets on Natalie Portman (Female Lead), Christian Bale (Male Supporting)… it’s going to be a toss up between Chris Colfer and Steve Carell for Male Comedy. I think if it wasn’t Steve’s last year on the office, Colfer would have this in the bag. But it seems like it should go to Carell.

  2. Lost didn’t get any love at the Emmys either. But at least it got nominated. I’m shocked it’s not up for best ensemble cast. And Michael Emerson and Terry O’Quinn should have gotten best male lead nods without question.

  3. I know when I saw the news I was surprised about quite a few.
But on to the predictions. I agree Em on Natalie Portman (Female Lead)(Male sporting not sure of)
(Male Actor, Drama Series)I gotta go with my Hugh Laurie, House. The others are a bit harder given so many are good.

  4. I don’t know.. I think Steve Buscemi might grab it for Boardwalk Empire. Fantastic show and with it being the first season, I wouldn’t be surprised at all to see it nab several of these.

  5. I would like to see Patrick Stewart, Macbeth: Great Performances. And nobody can do True Grit like John Wayne, so I like the nod to the movie but I am not so sure anyone should walk off with anything.

  6. I keep hearing good things about True Grit. I feel like anything the Cohen brothers do will always get at least a nod.
