FanBolt’s ‘Marry Me’ Screening Party

I had the pleasure of hosting a screening party for Lifetime’s new miniseries Marry Me starring Lucy Liu. The miniseries premieres this Sunday December 12th at 9pm and concludes on Monday December 13th at the same time.

Marry Me is the story of one woman’s journey to find the ever elusive “Prince Charming”. She wants the fairytale romance with the happily ever after. Any girl can relate to that right? However, this one woman appears to be a bit more lucky. She finds three of these “Prince Charmings” at once, or so it appears at first. And the guy she ultimately ends up choosing is a surprise… even to her.

FanBolt received Part 1 and Part 2 of the miniseries to entertain our guests with on Monday night. But this was a bit more than just a screening for us, Marry Me was actually shot all around where we live and work. We recognized places we’ve eaten at, places we’ve shopped at, and one guest even recognized the church she got married in. Playing the name that location was a fun part of the evening for us!

Overall, I have to say I was really surprised by my reaction to the series. I think some of Lifetime’s miniseries have a reputation for being girly and dramatic. And while Marry Me was a little girly and corny in parts, it was legitimately funny and entertaining. My favorite moment in the series? Well I won’t give any spoilers away, but for those of you that recognize Vanessa Marano who plays Immy (from her Gilmore Girls days as April Nardini) then you’ll find yourself laughing hysterically at one part! Kudos to the writers for that one!

No screening party is complete with out swag, door prizes, drinks, and snacks. Our guests snacked on chips and hummus, cookies, cheese and crackers, and holiday pretzels. We also had red wine, coke, and the Marry Me Tini available which you can make yourself with the recipe below!

Marry Me Tini
INGREDIENTS
– 3oz vodka
– 1oz Pom Pomegranate/ blueberry Juice
– 3 blueberries

PREPARATION
– Pour the ingredients into a cocktail shaker with ice.
– Shake vigorously, cold is key here.
– Strain liquid into a chilled cocktail glass.
– Garnish with 3 bluberries on a cocktail skewer.
– Celebrate!

As far as swag prizing for the night, we have candy wrapped up in cute little boxes, tiara furry veils for the gals, and a bling-blinging giant diamond keychain!

Everyone had a great time, the girls were entertained, the boys were entertained, and even our little office yorkie seemed to enjoy the evening! Special thanks to Lifetime for supplying all the goodies, giftcards, and the screener that made this night possible!

Don’t forget to check out Marry Me on Lifetime starting this Sunday December 12th at 9pm and concluding on Monday December 13th at the same time!

  1. I cannot wait to see this – I keep seeing the previews on television. Every woman has felt that way sometime in her life – tired of dating duds and wants a real man, so we scope out every man in our radius but always there’s one flaw. We learn to just live with them in real life lol – but it’s nice to see one woman’s dream come true. If you have any extra door prizes, swag, or most of all – one of those cute boxes – please sent my way

  2. I’ll be honest about the cute little boxes… they adorable but they’re filled with candy that no one really liked. haha 🙂 They’re like little balls of pure hard sugar with no real favor to them. But yes you’re totally right, most all of us have been there at some point so we can totally relate. We all like to believe that the fairytale love stories like this can happen to us…. no matter what other people tell us! Every girl deserves a prince charming! 🙂
