Interview: KSM
We had the pleasure of interviewing KSM. We talked with the girls a little about their new album, their influences, and their favorite TV shows. Check it out below!
How excited are you to be releasing your first album?
KSM: We are so stoked! It’s our first album and a lot of time has gone into it. We hope everyone enjoys listening to it as much as we enjoyed making it!
If you could describe your album in three words, what would they be?
KSM: Energetic, pop-rock, extravaganza
Which song is the most meaningful or most personal to you?
KSM: I think we all love ‘Distracted’. It was our first single and we can all really relate to that song.
Is there a certain song you love to play live?
KSM: We did a cover of Cheap Trick’s ‘I Want You To Want Me’ for the new ABC family show 10 Things I Hate About You and it’s a jam to play. We’ve had a lot of fun with that one!
What bands have been an influence on your music?
KSM: We love female rockers… Pink, Gwen Stefani, the Go-Gos, Cindy Lauper, Paramore, and we love our dear friend Demi Lovato, who we just finished touring with.
Was there an album that you heard growing up that really changed your life and convinced you that music was your future?
KSM: ‘Jagged Little Pill’ by Alanis Morisette was a great album. It kind of made us think… Hmm… We could do that.
Can we look forward to any of the songs you’ve written being on the next album?
KSM: I think you certainly can!
What’s it been like working with stars like Demi Lovato, The Jonas Brothers, and Mitchel Musso?
KSM: We just got off tour with Demi Lovato and had the most amazing time! She’s so much fun and so talented. Working with the Jonas Brothers is of course, amazing. They are truly talented and they’ve clearly done something right. We look forward to playing together in the future. And we just started tour with Mitchel who is such a great guy. We look forward to this tour a lot!
Is there anyone that you’d love to perform with?
KSM: We would love to perform with The Jonas Brothers again, Paramore, No Doubt, and anytime we can join Demi Lovato or Honor Society we’d be stoked!
When you’re not working on music, what are your favorite things to do? Any must see television series?
KSM: Most of us love to shop and all of us like to read. We’re big fans of the Twilight series!”
Favorite TV shows?
Shae: 30 Rock is hilarious.
Sophia: My favorite show right now is Entourage.
Kate: I’m a Law & Order junkie.
Katie: I don’t watch TV but when I do I watch Nocturnal State.
Shelby: I love watching George Lopez late at night.
