Cardiology Tour: Good Charlotte Review & Photos

This past week I had the opportunity to take some live shots of the boys in This Century, Forever the Sickest Kids, and Good Charlotte. Now for anyone who has ever seen any of these bands live, you already know the show they deliver is nothing but five stars.

To start out a great night, the guys from This Century set the bar sky high. This was the first time that I had seen them live. Heard them, sure, but I had no idea what to expect. To say that I was pleasantly surprised doesn’t quite say it. These guys put on a show with high energy. The amount of passion they have just pours out on the stage. The entire band’s persona is just as amazing. Interacting with the audience that was sure enough to make your heart melt (lucky for me I had a cup to catch it).

Up next was Forever the Sickest Kids. I’ve been a fan of these guys since 2007 when “Hey Brittany” made it’s way into my ears. Their upbeat, charismatic performance makes everyone get up literally off their feet. It’s an uncontrollable action that the guy’s successfully radiate to any audience member within listening distance. They also engage the audience and work the crowd like it’s their job (oh wait…). Either case, I can’t wait to see them again this summer.

Last, but not least, was Good Charlotte. Let me say that this was a particularly exciting for me to be able to photograph them. I remember being the kid in middle school wishing I could be like them and just flip all my school mates off. Instead, I behaved and listened to their music all day. Always a pleasure to see in concert, it was completely different seeing them through a lens. I found myself bouncing around and trying to take the shot at the same time. I’ll just blame blurry images on the fan girls and no photo pit. (Don’t tell anyone!) Playing some of my favorites songs like “Riot Girl,” “I Don’t Wanna Be in Love,” and “Little Things”, they were a real challenge to get pictures of. Kept me running around for the perfect shot. They gave me a full cardio workout in a very short amount of time. Cracking jokes and a phenomenal set makes them stand out in an industry saturated with talent. They never get old.

So if you’re looking for a good show, check out all of these bands on the Cardiology Tour for a little sweating, jumping, and always one hell of a time. Til next time, stay classy and keep the music thumping.”
