OneRepublic Star Sang At Idol Finale With Injury

ONEREPUBLIC frontman RYAN TEDDER struggled his way through his performance at last week’s (ends23May08) AMERICAN IDOL finale – because he was in agony from a torn Achilles tendon.

The rocker hobbled on crutches down the red carpet at California’s Nokia Theatre L.A. Live last Wednesday (21May08), before taking to the stage with his bandmates to perform their hit song Apologize with finalist David Archuleta.

But, despite calling his injury “so painful” and one of “the worst things” he had ever experienced, Tedder managed to crack a joke about the accident.

He quipped to MTV.com: “I was on the beach, and these baby seals were getting clubbed, and I ran up and stopped the clubbing, and they clubbed me.”
