Amos Quits Label

TORI AMOS has left label Epic Records and will release her next album in
2009 on her own.

Amos is the latest musician to shun record company control and go it alone, following in the footsteps of Radiohead, Madonna and U2.

Her manager John Witherspoon tells Billboard.com, “She has chosen the path of independence for her next work.

“As with many of her contemporaries, Tori is devising new and exciting ways of getting her music to the masses without the boundaries and limitations of the major music companies.”

As well as a new album, Amos is currently writing a musical for the British National Theater; as well as a graphic novel.
