HBO’s Latest Epic ‘Game of Thrones’ A Must- See

HBO’s new series Game Of Thrones doesn’t release for months, but already critics are calling the show a must-see!

The show is currently still filming in Northern Ireland, and is based on the best-selling novels of George R. R. Martin. One critic is describing the show as “An epic fantasy in the tradition of Tolkien, but with more sex, violence and treachery.”

And good news for The Lord of the Rings fans; you’ll find find a familiar face on the show! Who? Sean Bean, who plays Eddard “Ned” Stark, patriarch of one of the families vying for influence in the kingdom of Westeros, which is ruled unsteadily by King Robert Baratheon (Mark Addy). The House of Stark’s adversaries include Robert’s queen, Cersei Lannister (Lena Headey), her incestuous brother, Jaime (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) and exiled princess Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke).

The land experiences decade-long winter, and another threat looms as well: Beyond “The Wall,” a towering barricade in the far north, lurks a cold-loving supernatural menace, which critics recall as where “No one is safe.”

Game Of Thrones premieres on HBO April 2011.
