‘Dexter’ Renewed For Sixth Season
Showtime’s Dexter has been renewed for a sixth season, the network announced this past Monday.
“Dexter is the best suspense drama on television,” David Nevins, the premium cable network’s entertainment head, said in a statement. “To grow its audience so significantly in its fifth season is an enormous accomplishment by this amazing cast and crew. This is the easiest decision I’ve made since I got to Showtime.”
Dexter — which stars Michael C. Hall as a blood-spatter analyst by day, serial killer by night — has won four Emmys and two Golden Globes as well as a Peabody award.
The Season 5 finale airs Sunday at 9/8c. Production on Season 6 will begin in the spring.
