1968 – The Rolling Stones’ Brian Jones was busted for the second time for cannabis possession in his London apartment.

1970 – Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young recorded their Vietnam protest song “Ohio.”

1971 – Paul McCartney released Ram with wife Linda McCartney, the only album credited to the pair.

1979 – Elton John began a series of Russian concerts that were videotaped for a cable-TV special and a videodisc. They were both titled “To Russia with Elton.”

1980 – The Clash frontman Joe Strummer was arrested at a concert in Hamburg, West Germany, after cracking an audience member over the head with his guitar.

1985 – Marvin Gaye’s last album, Dream of a Lifetime, was released.
