1958 – Jerry Lee Lewis revealed that he had married his 13-year-old cousin, Myra.

1970 – Elvis Presley signed a contract to make three movies with MGM.

1980 – Five of Jimi Hendrix’s gold records were stolen from the Electric Ladyland studios in New York.

1987 – Roy Orbison appeared as the musical guest on “Saturday Night Live.”

1997 – Fleetwood Mac played the first of two MTV Unplugged specials which were aired later that summer.

2000 – The ASCAP Pop Music Awards presented Steely Dan with the Founders Award for a lifetime of songwriting.
