1964 – The Who, then known as High Numbers, failed to pass an audition with record label EMI.

1965 – The Rolling Stones released “Get Off My Cloud” in the U.K.

1966 – The Beach Boys released their classic tune “Good Vibrations.” It was one of the first rock songs to feature the theramin.

1974 – KISS released their second album, Hotter Than Hell.

1976 – Keith Moon played in his last show with The Who.

1978 – Earth, Wind & Fire embarked on a sold-out, 75 show American tour.

1982 – Worcester, Massachusetts Mayor Sara Robertson declared it Van Halen Day after local fans gathered 25,000 signatures requesting the group add a second show to their tour.
