New Justin Timberlake Track Is A Fake

Just when fans thought Justin Timberlake was bringin’ sexy back… In comes the new year and official verification that the track hit the web under false artist representation! “Take You Down,” the track that hit the web last week and was falsely attributed to Timberlake (and producers The Neptunes) quickly built up momentum as the first new J.T. track in ages.

Though Timberlake or his reps had never released information that new material was underway from the singer turned actor, fans were under the assumption that he has been secretly recording new material.

Well, we aren’t that lucky guys…

A rep for Timberlake released a former statement today, shooting down all hope that he’s returned to his musical roots. “Various media outlets recently reported that a song called ‘Take You Down’ is a new track from Justin Timberlake. These reports are untrue. The song is the work of a Danish artist named Rasmus Thude.”

“Justin’s representatives were not initially contacted to fact check the validity of these reports or if the song was, in fact, his. Justin has no involvement with either the song or the artist but wants to assure his fans that when he releases new music, they will be the first to know.”

Too bad considering big names are making big comebacks this year…but then again, the year has just begun. In the meantime, I have the feeling that Rasmus Thude is feeling on top of the world…for the moment.
