NBC’s ‘Prime Suspects’ Likely Headlined By Maria Bello

Maria Bello is in final negotiations to star in NBC’s remake of Prime Suspect, and will likely [though not yet confirmed], be the show’s leading lady.

An adaptation of the British miniseries, Prime Suspect follows a female detective who has to make her bones in a tough New York precinct dominated by men. The lead role was originated by Oscar-winning actress Helen Mirren.

British fans are already applauding the assumed decision of Bello portraying the main character, and what with the similarities of Mirren and Bello, it’s assumed that’s just who she’ll portray. Of course, nothing’s for sure until we get that highly-anticipated official statement [but it’s pretty much a no-brainer]!
