DoubleFine’s Latest Project Announced: Costume Quest 2

Hot off the success of their Kickstarter Project, Broken Age, Double Fine has moved onto yet another game. As they are won’t to do, they announced the news via a weird in-house video. Check it out below:

For those of you unfamiliar with the original, Costume Quest was a digital game released on XBLA, PSN, Windows, Linux and iOS. It was a turn based RPG with elements of Adventure games. It took place during Halloween, with the player taking the role of a trick-or-treater and his friends, all of which were in costume. Hence the name.

Double Fine has announced they will be releasing the game in collaboration with Midnight City. No, not the M81 song. Midnight City is an arm of Majesco Games focused on indie publishing. A few other, smaller indie devs have released games through them, include the developer of last year’s greatly praised, Gone Home. Costume Quest 2 is expect some to release around Halloween of this year.

  1. I had a lot of fun playing Costume Quest, so I’m excited to hear this news. Double Fine doesn’t make many sequels, or any for that matter, so I am surprised by this. I hope they can make Brutal Legend 2 some day. Stacking 2 would be great as well.
