Christine Lahti Signs On To Play Doctor… Again In ‘The Doctor’

Christina Lahti, the Dr., is in, again… Christine Lahti, best known for her Emmy-winning role as Dr. Kathryn Austin in Chicago Hope, is putting on the scrubs once again as the star in a new CBS drama called The Doctor.

The Doctor is being called a medical-family drama pilot with a lot of spunk, and who better to bring on the spunk! The project focuses on a mother (Lahti) who joins the family medical practice and must learn to reconnect with her adult children. The pilot was written by Privileged creator Rina Mimoun and directed by David Nutter.

In 1998, Lahti won an Emmy for her role as Dr. Kathryn Austin in Chicago Hope, and considering the fact that her Law & Order: SVU character ADA Sonya Paxton was murdered [aka killed off] in this week’s episode, this is great news for fans!
