Kiefer Sutherland Considering Lead Role In Fox Pilot ‘Touch’
Kiefer Sutherland may be returning to television! The former 24 star is reportedly seriously considering a lead role in Tim Kring’s new Fox drama pilot, Touch.
The series will focus on a father who discovers that his mute, autistic son can predict events before they happen. While Sutherland is already in early negotiations to play the father, the determining factor of whether he will or won’t will be whether or not he can commit to the hectic time schedule of a series [which could always lengthen in the event that the series be renewed for further seasons] while at the same time starring in the Broadway revival That Championship Season, which began previews last week.
Sutherland also stars in a new web series, The Confession, which follows a hitman (Sutherland) who discusses why his victims deserved to die with a priest (John Hurt). The 10 five-to-seven-minute webisodes, which was shot last month, hits Hulu in March.
Developed as a spec script, Touch is Kring’s first pilot since Heroes in 2006. He will serve as executive producer alongside Peter Chernin and Katherine Pope.
