Lifetime Network Announces Roseanne Barr Reality Show

Roseanne Barr is has just signed on for her own Lifetime series. The series will thus far consist of 16 half-hour episodes in which the comedian will try to run a 40-acre macadamia nut and livestock farm in Hawaii. Writer-musician boyfriend Johnny Argent and his son Jake will toil alongside her.

“I’m coming back down to earth, and keeping it real,” Barr says in a statement. “They’ve said ‘Roseanne’s nuts’ for years, and now I’m going to make that a reality. I’m all about nuts now, macadamia nuts!”

Lifetime Networks President Nancy Dubuc commented on the union of Roseanne and the network, saying: “Roseanne Barr is an undeniable force of nature and the idea of following her in this unique premise excited us from the get-go. Roseanne is funny and brutally-honest, and our audience will relate to her decision to go on this adventure and create an entirely new life for herself. We are thrilled she will make her long-awaited return to television on Lifetime.”

Barr is best known for her hit ABC sitcom Roseanne which ran from 1988-1997. She also hosted a short-lived talk show, The Roseanne Show in the late ’90s and was recently seen in a Super Bowl commercial for Snickers candy bars.
