Old school gamers, it may be a time for great rejoicing, Gauntlet will soon return to a PC near you! That’s right, Warner Bros. Interactive has announced they will be releasing a new game in the popular hack n’ slash series. Developed by Arrowhead games, they claim it will innovate while staying true to the originals.
Players will be able to select from four classes: Warrior, Wizard, Valkyrie or Elf. Each will have it’s own sets of strengths and weaknesses. An example they give is a rather obvious one, with the Warrior focusing on strong melee, the Wizard on strong magic, the Valkyrie on armor and Elf on Speed. The dungeons will be procedurally generated, to keep things fresh.
The game appears to play much like the original. Fight your way through waves of enemies, such as ghosts, grunts, demons, spiders, sorcerors and skeletons. Make your way to the end of each area, picking up power-ups, health and keys along the way. The game is set to launch in this Summer on PC.
